What happens when an underwater photographer runs into a group of sea lions, while doing a dive? An adorable photoshoot, that’s what!
Richard Salas of Santa Barbara, California is a specialist in underwater photography. Salas was diving near Hornby Island in Canada when these adorable sea creatures showed up and were ready to be stars.
The sea lions were not afraid of Richard at all– in fact, they got a little rough with him. The sea lions would nudge him and even try to bite his equipment!
Richard compared photographing the sea lions to playing a game of rugby, only underwater. The sea lions weren’t always acting tough, as they took their time to rile it up as well. One sea lion in particular put his adorable little face right up against the lense, which resulted in one of the cutest pictures you’ll ever see.
It’s a beautiful thing when man and nature can come together in such an awesome way.
It just goes to show that when treated with respect, sea creatures won’t be afraid to interact with humans. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but for Salas, the curiosity of these sea lions led to one amazing day we all get to enjoy!
