Harrison Ford is the ocean.
Well no, he’s not technically a mighty and beautiful body of water, but the esteemed actor known his roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo lends his voice to a powerful video, spoken from the perspective of the ocean, as part of an ad campaign by Conservation International called “Nature is Speaking,”
Julia Roberts is Mother Nature. Kevin Spacey is the Rain Forest. Edward Norton is the Soil. Robert Redford is the Redwood Forests.
But it’s Harrison Ford’s message from the ocean we find most powerful.
He states, “I’m most of this planet. I shaped it. Every stream, every cloud and every raindrop, it all comes back to me.”
The ad campaign stresses that the Earth we know existed long before us and will exist long after us. Issues like pollution, overconsumption and destruction are jeopardizing the existence of humans – not oceans, soil and environments.
The crux of the argument – Nature doesn’t need people. People need Nature.
