2. No more theatrical shows – waving goodbye to showtunes and coordinated performances.
3. New, inspiring natural orca encounters – focusing on orca enrichment, exercise, overall health and behaviors found in the wild – starting next year in San Diego, followed by San Antonio and then Orlando in 2019.
4. New partnership with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) – forged on common ground to protect our oceans and the animals that call them home.
5. More education – committing to educating more than 20 million annual visitors on animal welfare and conservation issues through interpretive programs at the parks and expanded advocacy for wild whales, seals and other marine creatures.
6. Orcas will live out the remainder of their days at SeaWorld – the company will not advocate for sea cages.
7. SeaWorld has committed $50 million over the next 5 years to be the world’s leading marine mammal rescue organization, to advocate for an end to the commercial killing of whales and seals and an end to shark finning.
8. Invest millions to make the current orca habitats as naturalistic as possible.
9. Continuing world-class care, the latest advances in marine veterinary medicine and zoological best practices – SeaWorld will remain the world leader in care.
