You probably already know this, but dolphins travel in packs called pods. Depending upon the location, the abundance of food and the species of dolphin, a group can form with dozens of dolphins and more. It’s basically their own version of a “squad.”
Humor us.
Every so often a superpod, as if you would call it anything else, will form with hundreds and even thousands of dolphins! Yes, you read that correctly. Seeing a superpod will not only leave you speechless, but it’ll leave you with some serious squad goals.
Picture Adventure uploaded a video to Vimeo this weekend showcasing a stampede of dolphins. It is estimated that there were over 500 dolphins dancing in the waves.
SPOILER: It’s one of the most majestic things we’ve ever seen.
Dolphins are highly social animals that can form strong, almost familial-like, bonds. However, they have been known to switch between pods and even join other species!
That means there’s still a chance for us… right?
