This. Is. Huge.
Based on an announcement released yesterday, SeaWorld parks is making mega moves in preparation for 2017. The theme park currently has three amazing locations in Orlando, San Antonio and San Diego. The addition of three new rides, a virtual reality experience, and a new orca presentation, among other new shows and events, will definitely have you doing a double-take.
Change is never easy, but it also isn’t cheap –the total capital investment is expected to be about $175 million. Yep, you read that right. This is their biggest year since the park’s grand opening in 1964.
So, what can you expect?
Experience the rush of riding a jet ski and the urgency of a SeaWorld rescue mission on SeaWorld San Antonio’s newest ride, Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster. Mind-blowing, who doesn’t love a jet ski? Check out the concept based on the Emmy® award-winning program, Sea Rescue® below:
The SeaWorld San Diego location is planning to deploy a bunch of new attractions, we’re talking almost three acres’ worth. Ocean Explorer is an incredible combination of several new aquariums, rides and digital technology that will encourage guests to explore and expand their knowledge about underwater wonders.
SeaWorld’s new Orca Encounter, which the company announced in March, will soon be making waves at the San Diego Park. The “live documentary” type experience will educate guests about wild Orca behaviors and encourage them to join forces with SeaWorld on the conservation front.
The goal is to have all of the exciting additions completed by 2019. Read up on ALL of the new attractions and start planning your next visit today.
