One of the newest video challenges that’s hit the internet lately is called the Mannequin Challenge. The point of this challenge is to stand with a group and be completely still, while a camera moves in and out to show each pose. Kind of like a frozen flash mob, but for the internet.
And ever since it became a trend, everyone’s been trying it out; from schools, to athletes, to actors, and just groups of friends have been posting their own renditions of it online to social media like Twitter and Instagram.
Now, a new group has us amazed and in “aww” at their video.
Now introducing: the Georgia Aquarium’s Sea Lions!

These sea lions are from California, and they’re also rescues following a UME, or Unusual Mortality Event in 2015, having been deemed non-releasable by the NOAA following multiple strandings. So, naturally, the Aquarium was more happy to give them a home with a $40 million expansion, last year!
Aside from showing off their flippered fun-loving pals, the Aquarium’s biggest focus is to highlight awareness, not only for their sea lions, but also the dangers that all those in the wild face, too.
For the Georgia Aquarium’s claim that it was the (almost) perfect #MannequinChallenge, we’re pretty sure they nailed it.
