Yesterday, a manatee was discovered and rescued from a storm drain pipe in Jacksonville, Florida. Thankfully SeaWorld was on the scene to save the increasingly distressed mammal.
Crews from SeaWorld Orlando, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue teams were involved in a rescue effort that lasted several hours and ended with sweet success.
The marine animal was rushed to the care facility and arrived at 6:15pm. Shortly after, SeaWorld Orlando tweeted that they were giving the manatee plenty of fluids to treat dehydration.
