Having a bad day? Twitter’s Cute Animal Tweet Off has been cheering up thousands since last Wednesday when Sarah Hill initiated a battle.

It all started when the Smithsonian’s National Zoo innocently tweeted an adorable picture of a gray seal pup. Sarah Hill, a radio host in Norfolk, Virginia, took the cuteness as a challenge.
“I thought, ‘[Virginia’s] seals are cuter than that,’” Hill recalls, and, with a simple tweet, the battle began.
