Sometimes… everyone could just use a midday snooze. Or, at least we could!
Well, that’s exactly what this sea lion visiting the Nichols Brothers shipyard in Freeland, Washington decided to do— and in one of the oddest places we’ve seen this year!
Although the inside of a car is a pretty good place for a power-nap, apparently the roof of this Honda Civic was JUST as comfy, to a sea lion looking to chill! He was filmed on top of the car at one point; just as interested in the passers-by as they seemed to be of him, each stopping just long enough to get a snap of the lazing sea lion.
Melanie J. Sceva Hill posted the video to facebook along with a caption “… This is happening right now and I guess he’s been there for a while!”
After the sea lion took a long enough look at the crowd, he simply decided to lie back down for his nap, still watching the people around the scene, though.
Witnesses reported that the local police sheriff’s office sent two cars after a while to help and get the sea lion moving again.
Hopefully whoever owns the Civic has insurance for sea lions, or something similar! Because even though there’s been no reports of damages… a fully grown male California sea lion like this one can average up to 600 lbs (or 300 kg) in weight, and THAT seems like a heavy load for this car’s roof.
Either way, we really can’t blame him for just… lion around.
