If you are reading this you probably love the ocean. You might even think it is the coolest place on earth. Could you imagine living on the ocean and being able to wake up and experience its awesomeness every day? Do you think you could manage to bring your family aboard a boat to live the dream with you?
Well, this family of five is living that dream. The Gifford family left their land based home in Washington state back in 2008 to sail around the world. The family includes a mother, father, two daughters and a son. All of them joined in on the adventure and all of them are still enjoying the ride.
All five of them live aboard a Stevens 47 foot vessel built in 1982, named “Totem.” Although spacious for a ship, it can be considered a tight squeeze for all five of them.
Behan, the mother, says that every day is like a field trip. Their endless discovery of field trips around the world has lead them to 30 countries and countless adventures along the way. All of their travels are guided by ocean and they are able to experience just how amazing it is every single day.
