Since its creation, mascara was a lash-enhancer and nothing more – until now. It all started with a simple request for old mascara brushes on a wildlife refuge worker’s Facebook page. Her post instantly caught the attention of animal and beauty lovers all over the country, gaining more than 50,000 shares at the time of publication. We guess you could say her request nearly “broke the internet.”
Savannah Trantham, co-founder of Appalachian Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina has found a way to use old mascara brushes to help our furry, four-legged friends.
How exactly do mascara brushes help save animals?
Well, mascara brushes can be used to help remove fly eggs and larvae from the fur of animals.
According to Trantham, “They work great because the bristles are so close together.”
