Video footage shows two people, one of whom is an EMS worker, helping a wounded dolphin who had become trapped in shallow water on Bolivar Peninsula. The bystander who captured the heroic moment, LaJean Hicks, said that the rescuers began helping the dolphin around 5:30 p.m. on April 5th. Hicks reported that the rescuers told her that the dolphin appeared to have been attacked by a shark, which could be why it became stranded. According to Hicks, it took six tries for the rescuers to finally drag the dolphin far enough into the water for it to swim away.
