Do you love Adele? Most of us have grown to love the soulful voice of the British singer. One of her
most surprising fans is Cosmo the parrot. The male parrot has been caught singing Adele’s hit song
“Hello” multiple times by the zoo staff. Even some of the guests have been lucky enough to catch his
impromptu shows.
Cosmo is a blue-fronted parrot that lives at the Vancouver Aquarium. He resides in the Amazon Gallery,
which mimics the tropical rainforests of South America.
The colorful bird was formerly a pet, but the aquarium adopted him when his owner couldn’t take care
of him anymore. He is happy in his new home at the aquarium and has a found a great friend in Gino,
who is a double yellow-fronted Amazon parrot. The two birds enjoy singing together, but Cosmo’s
favorite is Adele.
The aquarium staff keeps these birds active and healthy through enrichments in their animal care
facilities. These enrichments help the birds to solve new problems and keep their minds sharp. Listening
to new music and learning the words is one form of enrichment.
