After a recent fundraiser at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the staff prepared a special treat for its supporters.
The fundraiser was called “Giving Tuesday.” The proceeds from the fundraiser were used to help support research and care activities at the aquarium. The staff wanted to convey the feeling of heartfelt appreciation from both the staff and the animals that live there.
The video was posted to the Facebook page of the aquarium. It showed adorable footage of the recently rescued sea otter pups that were being cared for at the aquarium. In addition to the video, the aquarium posted this messages of thanks: “We thought you otter know how much we appreciate your support during Giving Tuesday and every other day of the year, so here’s two straight minutes of rescued sea otter pups being groomed and fed by our staff and volunteers. Thank you for making this work possible!”
In the video, aquarium staff are shown to be feeding the pups with a black mask. The mask is used as a method to prevent the attachment of the pups to human interaction. It is important for them to remain independent of humans because the goal is to return them to the wild. The pups are making progress and hopefully will return to the wild soon.
