Over 300 manatees have taken over Three Sister SpringsĀ north of Tampa, Florida, causing the area to be closed to visitors .
The springs are an inlet of the Crystal River and areĀ a habitat for manatees along Florida’s Gulf coast. Manatees normally number less than 100 in the area, but cold temperatures have driven more manatees to the warm, shallow water of the springs.
The manatees started to swim into the springs at high tide and like a high schooler whose parents left town for the weekend – its a party.
