A seal washed up in Sandbridge, Virginia, in dire need of help. Luckily, when beach-goers found the stranded animal, they contacted the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center immediately. The center dispatched a Stranding Response Team to assess the seal and determine what to do with it. The team determined that the stranded seal was extremely dehydrated and decided that emergency medical help was necessary.
The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center encourages anyone who sees a stranded marine animal to report it immediately. They have contact information on the “report a stranding” page on their website.
