A group of manatees were recently beached on the west coast of Florida. Beachgoers in Clearwater worked with a Clearwater Fire and Rescue crew to return these lovable sea cows back into the water.
The rescuers think that the manatees were stranded because of high winds and intense water action around 3 PM. The combination of conditions trapped the manatees on land. A total of seven manatees were stranded on the beach.
Rescue crews were called, but the beachgoers felt that the manatees were running out of time so they decided to help. Slowly they were able to move these massive animals back into the water. By the time the official rescue crew got there only three manatees were still stranded on the beach.
Luckily, all of the manatees made it safely back into the ocean. It is a scary situation to find a ocean animal stranded on the beach. These strong beachgoers were nice enough to help these massive creature back into the water.
