Well it’s not the most attractive fish in the sea, but the Anglerfish, or Black Seadevil, is very interesting in its own right.
Rarely seen before because of the depths in which it lives, the Black Seadevil has been captured on video for the first time by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
This fish was found in a canyon in the Pacific Ocean which rivals the Grand Canyon in size. It’s about 600 meters (1,900 feet) below the surface.
As you can see in the video above, the fish has several tools to help it find food, which it tends to ambush instead of prey on, mostly because it cannot swim very fast.
