A flamingo was spotted on in San Diego Bay, where Brian Collins, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service refuge manager, has not seen one there in more than two decades.
“You see right behind me- this fellow in pink, he’s not supposed to be here,” said Joe Little of 10News.
The flamingo was out of place as most flamingos are native to South America or Africa- experts from SeaWorld mentioned this flamingo looks the Caribbean.
Collins contacted San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld’s Aquatica, SeaWorld, and the Marriot hotel downtown to ask if they were missing a flamingo due to the flamingo having a band around their leg- indicating that the bird does indeed belong to someone.
“I don’t feel great about it because it’s an animal out of pace,” he said.
It is also reported that the bird’s wings are not injured and is able to fly.
The flamingo will be left alone in the meantime.
