The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium has been voted the Best New Attraction in America in a USA Today contest. The museum and aquarium, which opened last September, received more votes than any other nominee in any category in 2017. Wonders of Wildlife came out on top of attractions like Morgan’s Inspiration Island in San Antonio, Elvis Presley’s Memphis, Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka, Kansas, and more.
Located in Springfield, MO the attraction is in America’s heartland, where half of the nation’s population lives within a day’s drive. Wonders of Wildlife is larger than the Smithsonian Museum of Natural history and is not-for-profit. The museum and aquarium is a tribute to the conservationists, adventurers, and outdoorsmen who shaped our nation and are striving to preserve it.
The opening of Wonders of Wildlife was highly anticipated for almost ten years. This distinction proves that it was worth the wait. The museum and aquarium is home to all manner of aquatic creatures and other wildlife. The residents at the museum include penguins, jellyfish, snakes, chinchillas and more. And every now and then Wonders of Wildlife is open for special overnight slumber parties.
During the announcement of this illustrious new title, many officials from the Springfield area were in attendance including Mayor Ken McClure, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Matt Morrow, Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Tracy Kimberlin, and many others. This new title is sure to make an already popular attraction even more popular!
