Have you ever seen a dolphin at an aquarium and just wanted to chat with it? Well, one little girl was able to call a dolphin over to play with her using a simple comb.
Last month, Ellie Meszaros was enjoying a visit to SeaWorld Orlando with her dad. As they headed for the dolphin tank, Ellie pulled out a small comb. She ran it over the glass of the tank and strummed various combinations. Almost immediately, the dolphins came over to say hi to their new friend!
Why was this comb so special? The sound on the glass mimics that of a dolphins’ own language of communication.

This amazing incident was not by chance, Ellie did her research to ensure that the dolphins would respond to the noise of the comb. As a frequent visitor of SeaWorld Orlando, she has tried many other methods including a cell phone, different kinds of tapping and many toys, but none of those noises attracted the dolphins to play with Ellie.
She was able to enjoy a whole day of playing with the dolphins with the use of a simple object.
