Most adults have already made up their mind on climate change, but for kids there’s still time to learn about and understand the crisis.

Author and scientist Owen Liu was asked to accomplish that with his new book, The Confounding Case of the Climate Crisis.

The scientific adventure book centers around Anita and Benson, two elementary students who travel through time to understand changing climate systems and how the communities are impacted.

It’s filled with colorful images hoping to draw this young generation into engineering and scientific fields of study. The author hopes it will be read by middle school aged kids.

Liu is a graduate of Stanford University’s Earth Systems Program and a doctoral candidate at UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. He was encouraged to write the book by his mother, who works for a publishing company.
