We sure are glad you made it little one!
On May 10th, this beyond-cute baby tortoise entered our world and became the first Spider Tortoise to hatch in human care.
This is big news! Why?
Since the 70’s their population has decreased by 80% due to habitat loss and wildlife trafficking marking them as a ‘Critically Endangered’ species.
The Smithsonian National Zoo, where the tortoise was born, says they are optimistic about its survival and its growth is encouraging.
We’re rooting for you buddy!
