Sea Lion Loose On The Streets Of Mianyang, China

A sea lion took a casual stroll around the streets of China earlier this month after escaping from an aquarium. It is assumed that the sea lion escaped from the Central Aquarium in Mianyang, Sichuan, China.

Although the sea lion did escape, he did not seem to happy to be wandering the streets of Mianyang. In the pictures and videos, he actually looks scared and unsure of what to do. Who can blame him? Imagine being suddenly on the streets of a world that appears to have no water in site.

Onlookers followed the sea lion until it was contained. The police were called around 9 pm and then the aquarium workers were contacted. The aquarium staff arrived with a cone-shaped cage in order to capture and transport the animal.

After a long night, the sea lion was returned to his home at the aquarium. It is assumed that he made it back without any harm done, but there is no official statement from the aquarium about the incident yet.

It is unlikely that this will happen again anytime soon, but if you happen to see a marine mammal wandering the streets, then contact the nearest authorities to return the animal to its home.
