19 Penguins Have Discovered Their Favorite App!

Nowadays, there’s an app for pretty much anything you could dream of, but have you ever heard of an app for cats? What about for penguins?

No, we are not lying. A game app has been created for cats and at the Aquarium of the Pacific, nineteen Magellanic penguins are joining the fun!

Sara Mandel, the aquarium’s aviculturist, bought the app for her cat at home. There are several versions that you can choose from (mouse, laser, etc…) that zip around the screen of the phone or tablet for the animal to chase.

As her beloved feline was chasing the shiny speck across the screen, she recognized the similarities in the objects the cat was enticed by and the objects the penguins at work love to play with.

Sara took the iPad and game to work to test out her theory.

She was right! The penguins, especially Newsom and Jeremy, were obsessed with their new toy.

Check out the video to see the penguins in action:

The aquarium plans to add the new game to their existing enrichment program, which is meant to physically and mentally stimulate the penguins.

Who knows? Maybe soon you’re next game of Trivia Crack will be against a penguin!
