7-Foot Alligator Catching Waves On Pawley’s Island, SC

Yes, you read that correctly – a freshwater alligator was enjoying a day at the beach until authorities showed up to take it home.

According to NOAA, young alligators sometimes get caught in currents and flushed out to sea during heavy storms. Not to worry though, they can survive for a few days in the salt water until officials have time to transport them back to their natural habitat.

Police and independent contractors worked together to gain control of the gator and transported it back to its environment.
