Erosion blamed on El Niño rains is shearing away cliffs along the California coastline near San Francisco, leading to the evacuation and condemnation of apartments on the cliff’s edge.

This being 2016, there’s drone video. Notice the people standing on their terraces as the ground beneath them is being washed away.

“We have no clue on where we’re going to go. I just moved in. I just got my place,” resident Monica Montoya, who must vacate her apartment by Monday night, told CBS News. “Finally got my housing, and now I have to move out.”

According to CBS News, one building collapsed into the ocean and others were damaged during the 1998 El Niño.

Forget the housing market bubble collapsing. Mother Nature is taking a bite out of property values. Hang in there folks with third row condo units, an unobstructed ocean view is on its way.
