Bad Sea Lion, Bad Sea Lion, Whatcha Gonna Do?

What is this sea lion doing in the back seat of a cop car? Good question!

This little guy was found at a high school in San Diego, and detained for trespassing.

Just kidding about the trespassing charge, but the poor fellow was lost and found refuge at a high school about five blocks from the beach. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and put the sea lion in the back seat of a patrol car to transport him to SeaWorld for care.

“While deputy sheriffs attempted to interview him as to his activities, he clammed up and requested his lawyer,” San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said in the statement titled, “The Sheriff Always gets his … Seal?”

This case opens up a world of punny possibilities, but the #2015SeaLionCrisis is not joke. More than 1,000 sick and starving sea lion pups have been rescued on the California coast since January 1.

We’re sure after received some world-class rehabilitation, this juvenile will be more than happy to return to his home and steer clear of police!
