Crazy Dinosaur of the Deep Found!
Prepare to be amazed! Paleontologists say they’ve found the Holy Grail, a dinosaur unlike any other!
Not only does it challenge the T-Rex in strength and size, it may have ruled over an entirely different food chain – in the ocean!
It’s being called the Spinosaurus, a prehistoric monster that scientists always imagined existed, but now they have proof.
This 40 million year old fossil was excavated from the Moroccan Desert by German scientist Nizar Ibrahimand; now the prehistoric monster is on the cover of National Geographic. Check it out in this report by Tom Costello for NBC Nightly News:
So here’s what we know about this guy:
- 7 foot giant sail on its back
- 9 feet longer than a T-Rex.
- Lived in the North African waters
- Snout like a crocodile
- Paddle-like feet
Yikes! I wouldn’t want to come across this guy in the ocean today.
This Spinosaurus skeleton was found in an area that was a large waterway in North Africa in the Cretaceous period. Scientists believe he lived in the water about 80 percent of the time, putting marine animals and land creatures on the menu for this great predator.
He certainly gives all the previously discovered dinosaurs a run for their money. Hang in there, T-Rex. We still love you!
