Dinner Bell for Orcas And Humpback

We don’t know if the orcas or the humpback rang the dinner bell, but its meal time!

Awesome Ocean is a big fan of videos like this.

Earlier this month we wrote about a study on humpbacks’ communal feeding behavior that shows a lot of cooperation at meal time.

Well, this time humpbacks appear to have new partners at feeding time … orcas.

Check out this video from YouTuber Berthold Hinrichs that shows a humpback and a pair of orcas feeding on a school of fish. The orcas use a technique with their tails to stun their prey and then dig in.

Be sure to turn the sound up to listen to the whales communicating.
