This Is What You Don’t Do…

Sooo… we realize this is on a lake but these two clowns offer some valid advice for anyone near a large body of frozen water.
These two rascals (17 and 18) were out galavanting on a icy shore of Lake Michigan.
No problem there. Just exploring. We encourage this.
But then, they fudged up.
Pay attention: This may just save your life.
They started jumping, yes JUMPING, on the ice near the water!
What do you know, the ice broke!
Nooo, who’d have seen that coming? And in just mere minutes the two were floating more than 120 feet off shore.
Thankfully, one of the young men had his phone and was able to call for help.
Within an hour or two the boys were safely back on land.
Although (and we are thankful) these knuckleheads didn’t experience any injuries, let this serve as a reminder that when you are out enjoying a beautiful body of water, please be smart, leave the area how you found it (unless your cleaning it up) and DO NOT start jumping on ice, trees or anything else that may break and leave you stranded or wet.
Thanks! 😉
