Electric Eels Control The Movements Of Their Prey

When an eel says “Jump,” you jump!
A new study shows that electric eels have the ability to control the movements of their prey.
What an awesome advantage!
Think it’s not fair to the other fish? Actually, it is because eels have horrible eyesight and need the help of the electric currents to locate their food.
The study, published in Science Magazine, shows the electric pulses that eels emit directly activate the nerves that control their prey’s muscles.
When an electric eel sends out a charge it causes nearby prey to twitch, revealing their hiding spot and voilà, dinner is served!
