#RateASpecies Goes Viral As Animals Receive Amazon-esque Reviews

The reviews are pouring in, and the new #RateaSpecies hashtag is a hit. Oregon Zoo started the trend on March 9th when Shervin Hess, the man responsible for digital media at the zoo, was inspired by a review on Amazon. He adapted the review, which was originally for hiking boots, to describe the zoo’s otter.

Since Hess’ infamous tweet days ago, #RateaSpecies has exploded. Zoos, aquariums, organizations and individuals soon joined the fun with their own reviews.
