SeaWorld San Antonio Rescues Dolphin
A lost Bottlenose Dolphin was found stuck and distressed over 10 miles inland in the freshwater Cow Bayou in East Texas.
The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network called the animal care team at SeaWorld San Antonio for assistance and they immediately mobilized and raced to the scene.
The SeaWorld San Antonio team was quickly able to locate and retrieve the animal so that SeaWorld’s on-call veterinarian could examine the animal. The veterinarian was able to determine that the dolphin was still in good health.
The team at SeaWorld then rushed the animal to Sea Rim State park where they were able to release the dolphin back into the salty waters of the Gulf of Mexico. With a few breaths, the dolphin swam off into the distance with a second chance at life.
