The Splendors of Dolphin Birth

This video is simply amazing. To see the birth of a baby dolphin is astonishing. If you haven’t noticed, we’re huge fans of words that begin with the letter “A” and mean great things.

Normally childbirth is a wonderful and beautiful sight to behold in it’s own right, but this baby dolphin is something else!

In the video, Keo, a 12-year-old first time mother, is ready to give birth. She is swimming around with the tail flukes of her baby extending out of her in this video.

The birth process overall is an hour long, thankfully compressed into this nice three minute and thirty second video. The anticipation of seeing the tail stick out from the mother and just wanting the calf to just pop out is killer, but when it does happen, it’s beautiful.

Immediately, the newborn is swimming around with its mother as if it were swimming for years. The way the newborn and mother swim side by side in very playful manner reveals the love they have for each other in such a short period of time.

Videos like this make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. When the calf is born and begins to swim with its mom, you can’t help but go “Awwwww!”

Nature is beautiful and to think things like this are happening all the time and we never see it is mindblowing. Let’s all do our part and help keep our oceans clean so the births we don’t see turn out to be just as amazing!
