Surfing Pro Attacked By Shark, Competition Cancelled

The J-Bay Open 2015 Finals have been called off due to the shark incident that occurred over the weekend.

Surfing world professional, Mike Fanning, was about to catch a killer wave when the situation became potentially deadly.

Thankfully Mr. Fanning was unharmed.

Due to this incident and the recent spike in shark attacks, the World Surf League decided to cancel the final round of this competition. Mr. Fanning and his opponent, Julian Wilson, have opted to split the prize money, receive second place points (in accordance with WSL regulations) and move on.
