What is Better Than Being J.K. Rowling?
By Erin McKinney
So what would the author of the book series that defined a generation do for a living if she wasn’t a writer?
She’d be an “otter weigher”.
.@jk_rowling You’d make a great otter weigher! Let us know if you’re ever in town to give it a go! #sheddpup

Through a series of tweets, legendary author J.K. Rowling revealed that she is just as taken by the Shedd Aquarium’s ridiculously adorable baby otter as the rest of us.
Could she possibly be human? Or are gods also vulnerable to the cuteness of a baby sea otter?
Like all smart, talented people, Ms. Rowling has respect for zoological professionals, especially those that provide rescued baby sea otters with proper health care.
Otter weighers are very important, since knowing how much your otter weighs can help you figure out how much you should feed it, if it is growing properly, or if you might need to provide secondary health care.
In the Wizarding World, a dream job could be being an Auror (a dark wizard catcher), a professor at the renowned Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry or even a dragon caretaker.
For us Muggles, the closest we can get to wizardry is the care and keeping of the ocean’s most wonderful animals. If Ms. Rowling ever gets the chance to weigh some otters, we hope it is truly a magical experience.
