SeaWorld Orlando was called to the scene by the FWC to help save these manatees.

SeaWorld’s expert animal care team was able to jump into action, as of writing this they were already able to return 6 manatees back into the safety of the canal close to where they were found.

The weather in Florida has been unseasonably cold for the past few days, forcing manatees to see warmer water.  When manatees are in water colder than 68 degrees they can experience a life threatening condition called Cold Stress.  SeaWorld has been busy this winter already saving cold stressed manatees and it is clear that when there is an animal in danger, people call SeaWorld, not PETA.
