Columnist Visits SeaWorld – Truth Happens
SeaWorld has been on the receiving end of unfounded attacks from keyboard warriors and radical activists for some time.
Sure, it’s had an impact.
But that hasn’t stopped people from wanting to get the facts and the whole story.
In his January 19, 2015 column in the Victorville, CA Daily Press newspaper, reporter Ivan Hundric writes about his family’s recent trip to SeaWorld San Diego.
Mr. Hundric openly talks about his skepticism of SeaWorld because of the film Blackfish. But he did something that is sure to drive the radicals crazy – he saw SeaWorld for himself and formed his own opinion.
“My favorite attractions at SeaWorld are Dolphin Point and Pacific Point, where you can get a closer look at the animals, and on your own time. Dolphin Point allows guests to observe and possibly even touch a few dolphins while they swim and jump around freely. Pacific Point offers guests a chance to feed and observe sea lions, which can be pretty funny and noisy,” wrote Hundric.
Mr. Hundric concluded his column with something Awesome Ocean talks about on regular basis – SeaWorld and other parks’ marine mammal rescue programs.
“SeaWorld is more than just about rides and animal attractions. Did you know that since 1965, Sea World San Diego has rescued more than 6,500 animals and has treated as many as 475 marine mammals in one year? And animals that are rescued are nursed back to health and returned to the wild, when possible,” wrote Hundric
We applaud Mr. Hundric for his column.
Rather than rely on junk propaganda, he saw SeaWorld for himself and formed his own opinion. And look out Mr. Hundric, you’re likely to hear from the keyboard warriors!
They really don’t like it when people use facts and personal experiences to shape opinions.
