Heartwarming: Eight Animals Get a Second Chance At Life

With World Ocean day approaching, SeaWorld San Diego did something special, they were able to return 8 rescued marine mammals to the wild after extensive rehabilitation. It was an amazing event – giving these animals a 2nd chance at life.

SeaWorld San Diego’s animal rescue team, returned 4 Sea Lions, 2 Harbor Seals and 2 Elephant Seals.

Unfortunately, over the past year Southern California has had Sea Lions dying at record rates. Last year SeaWorld’s rescue team rescued hundreds of Sea Lions who were found to be malnourished and nursed them back to health. SeaWorld then returned them to the wild.

These 8 marine mammals that were released can now be counted among the over 23,000 animals that SeaWorld has rescued, rehabilitated and returned to the wild over the past 50 years.
