Blue Whale Calf Nursing – World’s First Footage

The waters surrounding Sri Lanka are known for hosting a plethora of diverse marine animals. But this season has been exceptional.

For the first time ever, photographer/filmmaker Patrick Dykstra filmed a blue whale calf swimming and feeding along side its mother!

Blue whales are the largest mammal on Earth. They grow up to 98-feet long and can weigh up to 180 tons!

Aside from the breathtaking blue whale footage, Dykstra filmed a Bryde’s whale, dolphins, sea turtles and a pod of more than 50 sperm whales!
