Celebrate Halloween with Marine Mammals

Halloween might be the scariest holiday of the year, but Zoos, Aquariums and Marine Parks in America have figured out a way to incorporate this spooky holiday, make it family friendly, educational, and allow young and old alike to celebrate this holiday with their favorite animal ambassadors.

We are going to look at this years upcoming halloween events at parks around the country.

SeaWorld Spooktacular – SeaWorld Parks Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio

At all 3 SeaWorld parks, families can dress up in their Halloween costumes for this midday Halloween event that is aimed towards kids at 0 – 12.  With a trick-or-treat trail, A Halloween show featuring your favorite Sesame Street Characters, a dance party with the DJ, and animal interactions, and you get an amazing Saturday or Sunday with the family with some memories that will last a lifetime!

Boo! At The Zoo – Brooksfield Zoo, Brooksfield Illinois

At the Brooksfield Zoo near Chicago, families can come a carve a pumpkin, enjoy a photo op, explore the corn maize, and more.  The highlight of this event are the “Not So Scary Zoo Chats” where the whole family can gather round a Zoo Keeper who will share stories about the animals at the Brooksfield Zoo.

Monster Splash – Miami Seaquarium

At the Miami Seaquarium guests can participate in the Monst Splash during the month of October, that includes Trick-or-Treating, Halloween themed Marine Mammal shows, a haunted walkway, and more!

HowlZooWeen – Minnesota Zoo

At the Minnesota Zoo they are celebrating Halloween in a neat way with some unclose animal encounters, Tropical Reef Skeleton Dive Show, A “Scarousel”, face painting, apple pressing, and family education sessions.  It is sure to be an amazing time for young and old alike who visit the Minnesota Zoo during the month of October.

Falloween – Mystic Aquarium

At the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut on select weekends in October celebrate fall and Halloween with their Falloween celebration that features a Pumpkin Celebration, Princess and Pirate Weekend, and a Costume weekend.  Families will enjoy games, prizes, and will be able to watch divers carve pumpkins underwater!  So dust off you Tiara, this is going to fun for all.

ZooBoo – Pittsburgh Zoo

At the Pittsburgh Zoo, they are having their annual ZooBoo event, where you can trick-or-treat next to the animals, participate in family activities along the way, and same dishes from some favorite local restaurants.  To reduce plastic, guests have been asked to bring their own Trick-or-treat bags to the event.

At the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium guests will discovery, creepy, crawly, slimy, animals along the Trick-or-Treat trail, and watch the animals play with their special pumpkin and halloween themed enrichment activities.

Thrills by Days/ Fright Nights – Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in the San Francisco Bay Area, families have two choices, during the days they can enjoy Thrills by Day which includes Twick or Tweet Twail with your favorite Looney Toon Characters, Witches Brew Island Zoo experience with unclose animal encounters, Monster Party, Pirates of the Dead Sea, and your favorite animals shows!  Then at night, take the little ones home, because Six Flags Discvoery Kingdom is turned into a frightful play with spooky haunted houses, and scary experiences.

Howl-O-Scream – SeaWorld San Antonio

SeaWorld San Antonio is the only SeaWorld that throws a more adult Halloween event.  On weekends in October, after the family has enjoyed a day at SeaWorld Spooktacular and the clock chimes at 7pm, the music changes, and park is over run by all manner of creatures from your nightmares.  With some haunted houses, scare actors around the parks, and a special Halloween themed Shamu Spook Show, it is an event that your teenagers and older will love and enjoy.
