Rare White Whale Caught on Video

In Herman Melville’s storied book “Moby Dick”, Captain Ahab obsesses over finding his great white whale. In reality, residents of Australia have been treated to their very own great white whale, but instead of shooting it with a harpoon; they instead are shooting with cameras to capture this amazing animal.

This whale, named Migaloo, is making waves with locals and tourists who are recording his whale songs, getting pictures and videos, and uploading them onto social networks, iTunes and more.

Initially thought to be an albino whale, it appears Migaloo has brown eyes, and is not actually albino.  Migaloo, which is a humpback whale, now has special tours and cruises that set off to give people a glimpse of the rare great white whale.
