Baby Dolphin Rescued By Florida Heroes

Florida beachgoers saw more than just fireworks and American flags this July 4th.

Rescuers found the 4-foot baby dolphin struggling against the current at Redington Beach on July 4. The surf proved too much for the little one – as well as beachgoers trying to help – because waves and the current were amplified by Hurricane Arthur that weekend.

The baby dolphin began to beach itself.

Concerned beachgoers called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to the scene to rescue the dolphin by removing it from the water. As you can see in the video, it took considerable effort to secure the dolphin and make sure the little one was not injured further.

According to local media, the FWC is now caring for the dolphin with assistance from Florida’s Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Now, doesn’t that warm your heart?
