SeaWorld Orlando Returns First Sea Turtles of 2015
So far 2015 has been a busy year for facilities that are rescuing and releasing wildlife.
We reported earlier about the manatees SeaWorld has been busy rescuing and releasing.
Now in 2015 SeaWorld has released their first few sea turtles back into the Ocean. The animal rescue team took the sea turtles down to Orchid Island near Vero Beach, south of Orlando, to release the lucky turtles who were given a second chance at a life.
One turtles was found with a hook in its throat. The SeaWorld animal care team was able to remove it, give the turtle antibiotics and nurse it back to health.
The other turtle had a fractured shell, and using natural materials including honey they were able to help the shell heal.
SeaWorld’s animal care team has rescued, rehabilitated and returned to the wild over 24,000 animals for the past 50 years. They are a shining example of what can happened when people from different organizations can work together to help save endangered species in the wild.
