Don’t worry. It’s not an update on those foul-mouthed tanned kids from the Jersey Shore show on MTV.
Mary Lee, the tagged great white shark and internet sensation, was tracked moving north along the New Jersey coast on Sunday.
Mary Lee was tagged by the research group OCEARCH in September 2012 off Cape Cod. Since then she has racked up 26,000 miles moving up and down the East Coast, and has even made it as far away as Bermuda.
How do we know where Mary Lee is at any given time? Easy. Twitter.
A reporter from Wilmington, North Carolina started the unofficial Twitter account for Mary Lee. @MaryLeeShark has gained a huge following since it was created in November 2012, shortly after the shark was tagged. The account has about 91,000 followers.
