Hey, remember Rialto? He’s the cute sea otter pup that was rescued and adopted by the Vancouver Aquarium just a couple of months ago. Right! That little guy.
Well, we have great news. It looks like Rialto is going to be getting TWO new playmates. YAY!
Two baby sea otters, a male and a female, were recently found and rescued off the coast of Alaska. Due to their condition, they will be put on a long-term care plan with help from the Aquarium’s expert team.
The fluffy pups have not yet been named, but that’s where you can help. Make sure to cast your vote before November 17th!
The male otter’s potential names are: Mak (after Kachemak Bay), Fritz (for Fritz Creek close to Kachemak Bay), and Paxson (as in Paxson, Alaska). The female could be named Kalluk (for thunder), Tutka (which comes from Tutka Bay), or Kunik (meaning kiss).
The new additions to the sea otter family can now be visited at the Vancouver Aquarium OR you can watch them in all of their cute and cuddly glory on the webcam. Excuse us… we’re going to be busy for a while, but you otter vote!
Pssst… here is a sneak peek of the cuteness to come!
