This amazing video shows the techniques turtles use to avoid becoming shark snacks!
You can see in the clip that the tiger shark opens its jaw as it approaches the turtle, but when it gets near the turtle flips onto its side using the shell as a shield.
The shark is unable to open its mouth that wide and retreats.
When the shark comes in for a second attack you can see the turtle flip again and begin to swim in circles. The turtle swims in these tight circles because the shark is too large to spin around that quickly and eventually it gives up.
The short video was filmed off of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica by scientist Randall Arouz.
