Whale watching – a hobby that’s bound to excite and bring you closer to nature. The pros at Dolphin Safari, including Captain Dave Anderson, have been offering dolphin and whale watching tours for quite a while, but have never witnessed anything quite like this …
Amazing, right?
February, apparently, is the month of love for more than just humans. We just reported on two male humpback whales fighting over a female and now, we’re thrilled to share video footage of two grey whales mating off the coast of Dana Point, California.
Captain Dave and his team were out on a whale watching excursion when they were surprised with an extremely rare display of two grey whales mating.
Why is this so rare?
Well, these whales are modest creatures in that they reserve their mating sessions for the more private lagoons in Baja. Not only did these two embark in a little PDA, they kept on showing their love for two days!
In the video, you can see the whales twirling together in a beautiful act of love. One whale even places a fin atop its partner as if they were hugging.
It was so beautiful the way the whales were connecting, they looked like they were in an embrace. It brought tears to my eyes as I watched the footage live from the drone through special goggles!” – Captain Dave
We agree, Captain Dave! Thank you for sharing.
