A group of students from Mount Saint Agnes Academy recently had the chance to swim with
dolphins. The experience of a lifetime was given to them as a reward after they proved that
they truly love the ocean.
A team from the school submitted a video about plastic pollution in the ocean as part of a
conservation contest. The contest was hosted by the Dockyard’s Dolphin Quest program
and the prize was swimming with dolphins.
Needless to say, these kids were extremely excited to swim with the dolphins.
A manager at Dolphin Quest, Krysta Walker, had this to say about the program, “Dolphin
Quest is very much involved with education as well as conservation. We thought it would
be a great opportunity for the schools to get involved and really get inspired to make a
difference in their own lives. We wanted to not only do our education programs here, but
also see what they could do in the classroom.”
The contest allowed students from many grade levels to pull together. Each of them
contributed to the video in their own way and the passion they have from the ocean shined
through in their video. Hopefully, these students will inspire other young people to care
about our oceans!
